Release Notes

May 5, 2021
  • Inventory Allocation New Feature
As new orders import into your Ordoro account, you can now allocate stock to them — either manually or via automation rules — to ensure that you can safely ship them out. In a low stock situation, this means you have a much more efficient way to prioritize which orders you want to ship out first. What’s more, allocation will not immediately affect your stock levels as inventory will only be deducted when an actual shipping label is created for the order, so you don’t have to worry about your product counts getting out of whack. It just adds a badge to orders letting you know if they are ready to ship or not.
This feature is officially out of beta and ready to be flipped on for all qualifying Enterprise customers!
  • Reorder Kit Parents on Purchase Orders Update
This feature is a long-time coming, so we’re happy to report that you can now add kit parent SKUs to your purchase orders. We only provide the kit parent (not the components) in the PO, so your supplier will need to know what components are required. On the flip, when you receive your reordered kits, we’ll automatically calculate the inventory for all the kit components based on the quantity received.
  • Overhauled Tracking Number Writeback Update
We’ve made some improvements to our automated tracking number writeback process. If tracking fails to write back to your sales channel, we instantly queue it up to be retried another time. If it still doesn’t go through after the retry, we tag the corresponding order in Ordoro with a “Failed Shipment Notification” tag to bring the mishap to your attention.
Please note, that this does not affect all of our integrated sales channels. For a list of supported carts, check out this handy article.
  • GlobalPost for Endicia USPS Accounts Update
Ordoro now displays GlobalPost shipping methods for Endicia USPS accounts with it enabled.
  • Assign Profiles in Bulk Update
When creating shipping labels for more than one order, you can now also set the channel profile for them in bulk.
  • Requested Shipping Method for Square Orders Update
When specified, orders imported from a Square sales channel will now display the Requested Shipping Method in Ordoro.
  • Importer of Record for International FedEx Shipments Update
When shipping from a non-US address, you can now specify the Importer of Record for FedEx shipments. This is handy if the recipient of the package is not the same as the Importer of Record, or IOR.

March 17, 2021
  • Address Filters for Orders Update
In the “Misc” filter dropdown on the Orders page, you can now filter by address validation status as well as ship-to country.
  • Kit Parents Listed on the Product Detail Page Update
In the “Kitting” tab for products that are kit components, we now list all kit parents that said component belongs to.
  • Kit Components Shown on the Order Detail Page Update
For orders that contain kits, we’ve added the ability for you to expand and view all of the components for that kit on the Order Detail page.
  • Map Requested Shipping Methods to Supplier Shipping Methods Update
In Supplier Settings, mappings can be created for requested shipping methods coming from imported orders to shipping methods actually used by the supplier.
  • Product Tags in Product Exports Update
By popular demand, we’ve added a “Tags” column to Product CSV exports.
  • Archive Carrier Accounts Update
All non-USPS carrier accounts can now be archived in Shipper/Carrier Settings.
  • Specify Custom Shipping Carriers Update
When tracking information is being entered either manually or via CSV import, you can now add a custom value for the name of the carrier.

  • Inventory Allocation (beta) New Feature
As new orders import into your Ordoro account, you can now allocate stock to them — either manually or via automation rules — to ensure that you can safely ship them out. In a low stock situation, this means you have a much more efficient way to prioritize which orders you want to ship out first. What’s more, allocation will not immediately affect your stock levels as inventory will only be deducted when an actual shipping label is created for the order, so you don’t have to worry about your product counts getting out of whack. It just adds a badge to orders letting you know if they are ready to ship or not.
  • Filter By Orders With Similar Ship-To Addresses New Feature
We're happy to report that for orders that are awaiting fulfillment, we’ve created a feature that automatically detects if any have similar ship-to addresses across the lot. If any dupes are found, we then mark them with a visual indicator next to the address. Clicking this icon then filters down to just the corresponding dupes, making it much easier for you to combine the orders into one shipment.
  • Default Customs Declarations for Products Update
When fulfilling an international order, it’s wise to use simpler product descriptions in your customs forms. This can be a monotonous task if you ship the same product often, so we’ve added a section to the Product Detail page that allows you to configure customs declarations on the product by default. This default description will then be automatically populated in the customs form when this product is part of an order being shipped internationally.
  • Bulk Update Ship Date for Orders Update
During the holiday shopping blitz, you may want to print shipping labels for orders in advance to help you better manage heavy fulfillment days. You can achieve this currently in Ordoro by setting the ship date on a label to be at some point in the future. Until now, this could only be configured for individual labels, but we’re happy to report that we’ve added a “Ship Date” field to the bulk update section of the label panel on the Orders list page.
  • Miscellaneous Orders Filter Dropdown Update
In an effort to make things less crowded, we’ve moved the Unprinted Labels filter and the Same Ship-to Address filter into a dropdown called “Misc” on applicable Orders pages.
  • Internal Notes Icon for Orders Update
Just like customer notes, an icon is now displayed on orders that have had an internal note created for them.
  • Return Label Info Displayed on RMAs Update
RMAs have been enhanced to now display a “return label created” visual indicator as well as all tracking and carrier information tied to the return label that was generated.
  • Filter By Reordered Products Update
A “Reordered” filter has been added to the Status filter dropdown on the Products list page.
  • Control If Shopify Emails a Customer When Their Order Ships Update
On the settings page for your Shopify sales channels, we’ve added a checkbox that allows you to enable or disable Shopify notifying a customer via email when their order has been shipped out.
  • Shopify Product Tags (beta) Update
If new products you import from your Shopify sales channels have tags applied to them, those tags will now carry over with those products into Ordoro. This feature is in beta, so we’ll need to enable it in your account if you’d like to check it out.
  • Shopify Product Tags (beta) Update

  • Order Tray Enumeration for Pick/Pack Workflows Update
By enabling this option in the Print Config panel, we’ll assign a tray number sequentially to each packing list in a batch. Products that need to be picked for the batch will be mapped to each tray number on the pick list, helping you stay organized during this crucial process.
  • Shopify Location Names in Order Timeline Update
In the order timeline, we now display the name of your Shopify Location (instead of wacky location ID).

The Purchase Order list page has now been graced with OmniBar filtering. It’s currently in beta, but will be arriving to a PO page near you in the near future.

  • Adjust Inventory Quantity by Amount Update
Instead of just being able to manually adjust an inventory count by changing its absolute value, we’ve added new functionality that allows you to enter the amount you’d like to adjust your overall count by and the math is done for you. This handy tool is available on the Products page and in CSV imports.
  • Improved Return To Address Functionality for RMAs Update
You can now enter whatever Return To address your heart desires for an RMA — before AND after it’s been created. As a bonus, we’ve also provided shortcuts to existing warehouse and supplier addresses to help you fill the Return To form faster.
  • Associated RMAs Linked from Order Update
Links to RMAs initiated for an order are now listed in the expanded view, Order Detail page and Return Label tab of the action panel.
  • Ship From Alias Update
We’ve added “Ship From Alias” to the Profiles section in Settings. If this value is filled in for a profile, it will replace the warehouse name that appears on shipping labels. This is very handy if you have multiple brands or sales channels that ship from the same location.
  • Custom Text for Customer Notes Label on Packing Lists Update
From the Packing List Profile page in settings, you can now enter custom text (like “Gift Message”) for the label that appears next to any customer notes on your packing list. The default label will remain as “Customer Notes” if the field is left blank.
